The Batesville Police Department's Citizen's Police Academy is a program
that has been established in which citizens of the Batesville community
attend a 10 week "Academy" class. During these 10 weeks, Academy
participants attend class one night a week where they are instructed in
police topics. The goal of the Citizen's Police Academy is not only to give the
citizen's of Batesville a deeper understanding of who we are and why we do
what we do, but to also forge a stronger relationship between the Batesville
Police Department and the community which we serve.

Requirements:
The requirements for acceptance to the Citizen's Police Academy are
a minimum age of 18 years old
no serious criminal convictions
Schedule:
Classes are held one night a week, on Tuesday nights from 6:00 pm until 8:00
pm. There is no charge for attending the Citizen's Police Academy, but you
must make a commitment of your time. Because such a wide range of topics
will be covered in such a short period of time, it is important that each
Academy participant attend every class possible.
